First two days

It's the end of day 2 and we have stopped and signed on for 2 nights here. We left Huntsville around 11:00 am yesterday morning and realized before we got to Athens that we had forgotten Mindy's leash and halter. Stop one: get Mindy supplies. Stopped for a late lunch at a truck stop where we ate really good food and filled up with gas. Stopped for the night around 6:00 at a beautiful place. Realized that we had forgotten Mindy's flea and heartworm pills. No problem, we called Dr. Linderman to find out exactly what she takes and found a vet online. Bill headed out in the Jeep to get the pills. Two hours later he is back with the pills with tales of trying to find another vet after the online info proved old and inaccurate.

We got on the road again after 11:00...again! St. Louis was a nightmare of traffic jams. We figured we could make it to a nice place we found in one of the books so called ahead for reservations. No problem. We arrived later than expected but they had saved us a wonderful spot right by the showers and office. There is a lake close by and the place is wonderful. We decided to stay here two nights and let Bill rest and recoup. He's really tired after his adventures finding a vet and driving this rig through St. Louis. We are in Danville MO (which the GPS is unaware of!) and will stay tomorrow.

Not bad for our first two days of RV travel. We've obviously never traveled with a dog before. We remembered her food, snacks and toys but forgot everything else. l Lesson learned.

I'll try to put some pictures on. I'm new at this and tech-challenged but I think I can figure it out. Love to you all.

  1. That sounds like a blast, minus the traffic jam part. Glad you started this. Two blogs in the same family... what a bunch of nerds!

  2. We're glad to be able to follow along! This "blog" business is working out very well for this sort of thing.

Now we need to get Tom into it...
